16 women get into Darul Aman

GUJRANWALA, Jan 18: At least 16 women, who escaped from their homes due to varied reasons, got protection at Darul Aman through courts here on Wednesday.

Reports said that these women left their houses after either being divorced or fallen out with their husbands over some domestic issues.

Darul Aman superintendent Ms Lilli Khan said that husbands of most of the women had made their lives miserable. These women were not only manhandled by their spouses but their children were also snatched.

She said that these women were being provided facilities in accordance with the law. While some of them were getting education and improving their qualification.

ACCEPTED: The bail application of two FIA constables involved in the escape of two human smugglers were accepted by a local court here on Wednesday.

The court directed them to deposit surety bonds of Rs50,000 each.

It is stated that constables Nazir and Rafiq were deployed at the lock-up when human smugglers Arif and Altaf escaped. However, both the constables had been arrested and a case was registered against them.
