ISLAMABAD: Another Pakistan Navy ship, PNS Moawin, which has been deployed on international humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission, has reached the Syrian city of Lattakia.
According to a Pakistan Navy statement issued on Wednesday, the ship brought a second consignment of relief goods comprising warm clothes, blankets and ration for the people affected by a powerful earthquake in February that killed thousands and rendered millions homeless in Syria and Turkiye.
Upon arrival in the Syrian port city, the ship was received by the Lattakia governor, the ambassador of Pakistan to Syria, the commander of the Syrian Navy and other dignitaries.
During interaction with the mission commander onboard PNS Moawin, the Lattakia governor expressed gratitude to the government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Navy for supporting Syrian citizens in a time of need.
Earlier, PNS Nasr visited Syria to hand over 700 tonnes of relief goods to Syrian officials.
The ongoing relief mission by Pakistan Navy ships was the manifestation of its resolve to continue all-out efforts to support the people of Syria and Turkiye in line with the policies of the government of Pakistan, the navy said.
