LAHORE: The management of Lahore Waste Management Company has issued a notification to dismiss 172 employees due to absenteeism, besides sending back 125 regular ones to the Municipal Corporation of Lahore (MCL), whereas service of 47 in-sourced staffers were terminated.

LWMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Babar Sahib Din the entire system of the company was being monitored in digitally. Attendance of workers in the field and time of vehicles’ departure and arrival from workshop are being monitored through online applications, he added.

He said in the last three months, more than 400 employees have been sent home for remaining absent without notice. Furthermore, he said, digital registration of stock has also been started.

All the workshops are being monitored with the help of modern CCTV cameras, he added.The CEO said that suggestions related to sanitation staff, machinery could be given on LWMC helpline 1139 or on social media.

flyover: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director-General and Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the ongoing development project of the city.

The meeting reviewed the signal-free corridor from Gulberg to Defence Mor and decided to build a double-lane flyover at Ghora Chowk Defence.

It also decided to develop a double-lane underpass at Cavalry Grounds and remodelling of Defence Mor would also be carried out. He also reviewed the construction of Nawaz Sharif Interchange on Bedian Road and also got a briefing on the multi-level flyover at Shahdara.

The meeting also reviewed the development of the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant.

Mr Rnadhawa said that the projects would resolve the traffic congestion problems of the city and the authority would continue to solve the problems of the citizens.
