LARKANA, Jan 16: Qaimuddin Solangi, who had registered an FIR against child lifters, is receiving life-threats. He told City ASP Irfan Baloch that three motorcyclists had visited him on Sunday night and forced him to withdraw the case or face dire consequences.

The ASP asked the SHO Civil Lines to look into the matter and ensure justice.

Mr Solangi told Dawn that the motorcyclists asked him to withdraw the case as he had safely received his kidnapped daughter Zarina.

He said one of the motorcyclists asked his two companions to shoot but later changed mind, saying that if within two days he did not withdraw the FIR he would be killed.

Mr Solangi said Sanam Bengali had disclosed the names of Ilyas Mashori, Rubina Awan and Rajib Lashari involved in the kidnapping of his seven-year-old daughter.

He said Zarina was recovered after arrest of Ilyas Mashori.

Police had released Mr Lashari, Solangi said, declaring three others as absconders.

He called for legal action against the three accused, which he would identify on seeing and instituting inquiry into alleged release of Ilyas Mashori.

PROTEST: A large number of people from different villagers protesting against Hesco for sending highly inflated and detection power bills blocked the Larkana-Moenjodaro road for two hours on Monday.

Imam Ali Mallah, Arbab Channo and Mashooque Mashori of the Indus Development Association led the procession that was taken out from Balhreji village.

Carrying banners and placards, they burnt tyres and blocked roads leading to Larkana, Radhan and Moenjodaro.

They said that Hesco was snapping power supply for 10 to 12 hours of around 45 villages regularly.

The affected villages are: Balhreji, Lal Bakhsh Shaikh, Bagi, Imam Bakhsh Mallah, Bindey, Karani and others.

They demanded that sending detection and wrong bills be stopped.
