HYDERABAD, Jan 16: Police on Monday conducted raids on guest houses and hotels in various parts of the city in a high profile search of a daughter of an adviser to Sindh chief minister and maternal nephew of a federal minister.

Police also came to houses of brothers-in-law of the federal minister in Latifabad and Qasimabad following an information that couple was staying at one of these places.

The search team was headed by DPO Ali Ahmed Junejo.

The couple was reportedly dropped at the hotel by the boy’s friend namely Sami Rajar of Mirpurkhas, who has been detained by police in Karachi.

“This is not a kidnapping case at all”, said a police source.

The girl is said to be a daughter of an adviser.

She was accompanied by a man namely Peer Bux alias Peero, son of Chakkar Khan Shahani, brother-in-law of a federal minister.

Police laid siege to residence of Mr Shahani in Qasimabad near Ali Palace and another brother-in-law in Latifabad-3.

Karachi police have been coordinating with the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and a cellular phone company the cell phone of which is in use of the man.

Another report said that the couple has slipped to Larkana but it could not be confirmed.

“I was out and only DPO Hyderabad can tell you something”, said SP headquarters Parvez Chandio.

“We have not disclosed complete identification of the couple as we are only told to locate a young girl, namely Nazish and a man Sajid”, a police source said.

The source confided that the girl has been in touch with her mother over phone while police were searching on the leads, being provided by Karachi after investigating Peero’s detained friend.

Sources said some arrests have been made in Larkana and Dadu in this connection.
