LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday withdrew its stay order regarding action by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and police after both agencies submitted details of the cases registered against PTI chairman Imran Khan.

However, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh restrained the National Account­ability Bureau (NAB) and the Anti-Corruption Esta­blishment (ACE) from taking any adverse action against the former prime minister till submission of a record of cases against him on Friday (March 24).

Earlier, the law officers of the federal and Punjab governments submitted reports on behalf of the Islamabad and Punjab police as well as the FIA.

The reports said a total of 43 cases had been registered against leaders and workers of the PTI in Islamabad while Mr Khan had been nominated in 28 ca­ses. The report by Punjab police, coupled with the affidavits, said only six ca­ses had been registered against the PTI chief while a total of 84 cases had been registered against other lea­ders and workers of the party.

Justice Sheikh said there was no need of extending the stay order after submission of the details asked for.

NAB, ACE reports

The judge expressed displeasure over non-submission of reports by NAB and the ACE. He gave them an opportunity to file the same by Friday (March 24). Justice Sheikh restra­ined both agencies from taking any adverse action against the PTI chief till the next hearing.
