GUJRANWALA, Jan 15: The mediation between the Muslim and Christian community over the Sangla Hill church issue is being appreciated across the country. This was stated by Presbyterian Church of Pakistan Justice and Peace Supreme Council chairman and former National Council of Churches vice-president Sharif Alam while speaking at a meeting here on Sunday.
He said the mediation had defused to a large extent the misunderstanding and uncertainty created between the two religions.
Mr Sharif Alam pointed out that he himself and Asif Eimas Mauood visited thrice at Sangla Hill for promoting religious harmony and peace.
Besides, he said Muslim Peace Council chairman Pir Ibrahim Sialvi and Bishop Javed Albert extended a remarkable role. regard. He thanked the president, the prime minister and the chief minister for providing better facilities to the Christian community.—Correspondent
