KARACHI, Jan 15: Sindh Adviser on Information Technology Noman Saigol said that some 40 IT centres to provide free of cost computer education, would be establish with the cooperation of the private sector, within the next four to six months in different cities of the province. He said this while talking to a delegation comprising students from different institutions of various cities and representatives of numerous NGOs, in his office on Sunday, said a statement.

Mr Saigol said that the Sindh government and the IT department had planned to establish free IT awareness centres with the assistance of the private sector in Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Sanghar and some other cities of the province. Internet facility will also be available at these centres, he added

He said that the promotion of IT education was the first and foremost priority of the present government.

The adviser said that efforts were also being made by Sindh IT Department to provide IT education to those people, who were not capable to obtain their own computers or to get expensive IT education from privately owned centres.

He said there was a lot of talent in the province but its proper utilization and more IT awareness among general public particularly students was imperative for sustainable development.—APP
