SAHIWAL: Villagers killed a dacoit and foiled the robbery bid at a poultry farm in village 112/9-L on Sunday night.

Police said two armed dacoits entered the farm and held its owner Jamil Ahmed and two workers hostage.

A motorcyclist who spotted the dacoits informed local villagers who rushed to the farm carrying arms. Seeing this the robbers sped away on their bike. The villagers followed them and traded fire. As the firing stopped, the villagers found a body. The other dacoit reportedly escaped Dera Rahim police reached at the spot and took dacoit’s body into custody. Police later identified the dead as Riaz of Pakpattan wanted in many criminal cases.
