LARKANA, Jan 14: People’s Party Parliamentarian MNA Hizbullah Bughio has said that construction of the Kalabagh dam against the will of the three provinces would lead to unrest in the country. In a press statement issued here on Friday, the MNA said that dictators had always inflicted damages on the country.

Commenting of the formation of the Council of Common Interests (CCI), Mr Bughio termed it a conspiracy to seek, what he called, desired decisions.

He said such exercises weaken country’s roots.

JSM RALLY: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Zain Shah group) took out a procession on Friday against construction of the controversial Kalabagh dam and the army ‘operation’ in Balochistan.

Manzoor Kalhoro, president of the JSM, led the protest.

The protesters assembled at the main gate of the Jinnahbagh where they staged a sit-in and burnt tyres, which interrupted vehicular traffic.

The protesters chanted slogans against the proposed water projects and the operation in Balochistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Manzoor Kalhoro, Mumtaz Shaikh and Qadir Daipar said that Sindh had the sole right on the waters of the Indus river.

They said that they would accept no dam over the Indus at any cost.

The protesters said that bombardment in Balochistan was killing hundreds of innocent people and called to stop it immediately.

They expressed solidarity with the people of Balochistan and said that the JSM would continue protesting against the Kalabagh dam and Balochistan operation.

Later, a group of 20 JSM workers observed hunger strike outside the local press club.

KILLING: A person was axed to death on Thursday near Shahdadkot.
