OKARA: A woman was arrested on charge of killing her visually impaired father-in-law at village Jithiana on the Gogera-Jandraka road.

As per the first information report (FIR), Samina had exchanged harsh words with her sister-in-law Nusrat Bibi and both had a physical fight. Samina’s visually-impaired father-in-law Farooq Ahmad (85) was shouting at both the women to stop the fight. During this, Samina pushed her father-in-law away and he fell down on the ground.

It was alleged that Samina inflicted blows on Farooq who fell unconscious and expired.

Gogera police arrested Samina after registering the FIR on the complaint of Nusrat.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead by his rivals at village Tiba Tughral near Mandi Ahmadabad.

As per the FIR registered by one Shah Jahan, Humayun Zeeshan had some enmity with Anas Mayo of the village. In the evening, two men, Bilal and Adil, came to Humayun’s house and took him along for reconciliation with Anas.

The complainant said he went to look for his brother and found Adil, Azhar and Bilal dragging him on the road while Anas shot at him and killed him on the spot.

Mandi Ahmadabad police registered a case against all the suspects.
