KARACHI: Calling the Sindh governor ‘a fugitive who’s wanted in the UAE for fraud’, former federal minister and Sindh chapter president of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Ali Zaidi asked Kamran Tessori on Monday to stay non-partisan respecting his office and ‘appealed’ to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to order probe into serious allegations against him.

Addressing a press conference at the party office, Mr Zaidi reacted to a question that referred to the recent comment of the Sindh governor against PTI chairman Imran Khan and said it was his constitutional responsibility to ‘show some grace’ and ‘stay non-partisan’.

“Let me remind the Sindh governor about his past. His arrest warrants were issued by the Dubai authorities in 2006 for a fraud.

“And I have a copy of the Interpol notice of March 2010 against him. I appeal to the chief justice of Pakistan to probe into these criminal charges,” said the PTI leader.

Mr Zaidi then referred to the alleged recovery of drugs from the vehicle of Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz leader and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah when the PTI was in power.

“But today, he is our interior minister. I wonder why all these JIT reports prepared by the law enforcement, intelligence and security agencies are not acted upon,” he added.
