LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) said on Friday that a front man of former MPA of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and ex-adviser to the chief minister Sardar Abdul Hai Dasti had managed to flee the country with Rs300 million.
“Dasti’s frontman Haji Muhammad escaped to Australia on Feb 22 after converting Rs300m into foreign currency,” the ACE said and added an investigation against Dasti would be held at its Lahore’s headquarters. “Dasti has been summoned by the investigators to record his statement,” it said.
A few days ago an ACE team raided Muzaffargarh house of Dasti and recovered over Rs150 million. The ACE alleged that the recovered amount appeared to be received by Dasti in kickbacks and from a former chief minister.
The Lahore High Court granted interim pre-arrest bail to Dasti in a case of illegal assets.
