Nine lose life in Eid days

SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 13: Nine people were killed, three of them by rivals, during the last three days in Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib districts. In an accident on the Hiran Minar Road, a youth, Abid, died after falling from his motorbike while doing a wheelie on Eid day. Kashaf Masih died when a rashly-driven wagon (MNQ-9471) knocked him down on the Jandiala Road.

Young Adnan died when a motorcycle-rickshaw he was travelling in overturned. While in Nankana Sahib’s area under the jurisdiction of the Bara Garh police station, Sharif, a farmer, was killed when he fell from a tractor-trolley. The deceased was going to his fields.

In the city area of Jinnah Park, a youth identified as Tanvir Warriach took poison and breathed his last.

A youngster, Asif, was stabbed to death by three people over a petty dispute at Basti Balochan. The A-division police have registered a case against Qaisar and others.

In an alleged land dispute, Zafarullah was shot dead by his rivals on the Lahore Road in Saddar police station precinct. Police have registered a case against Liaquat and his accomplices.

Five people shot dead Tanvir at a village in the Narang Mandi police station precinct over a property dispute. While Bashir was gunned down by unidentified assailants at Thathi Saranwar village in the jurisdiction of Mangtanwala police station.

The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained till last reports came in.
