KARACHI, Jan 13: A boy was killed allegedly by an accomplice of Arshad Pappu on the first day of Eid in Lyari. Police ruled out that the killing was in some way connected with gang war, saying it was a dispute over possession of a house in Eiddu Lane.

Lyari Town Police Officer Omar Shahid said that Ghaffar Zakri had personal enmity with a family over the possession of a house in Eiddu Lane. On Wednesday, he barged into the house and opened fire killing an eight-year-old boy Zakir.

The boy was rushed to Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The TPO said that after the incident, people of the Eiddu Lane lodged an FIR nominating Ghaffar Zakri in the case.

ARRESTED: Police held three cellphone snatchers in two separate incidents.

Police on Thursday arrested two cellphone snatchers from Saddar and recovered several cellphones and TT pistol from their possession.

The SHO said that Raja had a criminal record and was arrested in 2003 for committing a dacoity in Preedy police limits.

In Landhi, police arrested a suspect after exchange of fire and recovered a TT pistol and cellphone from his possession late on Wednesday night.

During patrolling, a police mobile tried to intercept two men on a motorcycle. After a brief exchange of fire, police arrested one of them, Farhan.
