HYDERABAD, Jan 31: The additional chief secretary, Planning and Development, Sindh, Shahzado Shaikh said that if the funds for schemes under the ADP and the KPP were not utilized which were earmarked for a particular district then they would be given to another district.

He was presiding over a meeting at the Shahbaz Hall the other day.

He said that for better management, execution, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of development schemes in the province, the planning and development department in collaboration with the finance department would provide training to district officials before the advent of the new financial year, ADP 2002-2003.

The meeting reviewed the pace of development of various schemes under the ADP of Dadu, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Badin districts.

The meeting also reviewed the pace of Hyderabad district schemes.

The additional chief secretary asked the officials to ensure financial discipline in execution of schemes and in this respect the DCOs were directed to hold monthly monitoring meetings to review the pace of work.

He further directed the DCOs to send him a report by Feb 15 regarding all mono and polytechnic institutes functioning within their districts about their performance, student strength, so that additional funds could be provided for various projects.

He urged the officials to ensure that all schemes/projects were completed on schedule.
