TOBA TEK SINGH: Jhang’s Qadirpur police traced the blind murder of a woman who was found killed in a wheat field on Dec 16 in Mauza Dusehra. Jhang investigation SP Asghar Ali told a press conference that Sardaran Bibi, 70, of Shah Jewna, was buried in the field. The police investigation led to Zafar Abbas of Mouza Panjgraeen, who is the brother of the deceased’s son-in-law. He confessed to killing her after snatching golden ornaments from her. He added that he invited her to his house on the pretext of attending a marriage, where he killed her.

QUACK: A seven-year-old girl died soon after a quack administered her an injection in Faisalabad on Wednesday in Dijkot Chak 258 RB while her 18-month-old sister became unconscious also due to an injection.

According to the Dijkot police, complainant Muhammad Waseem said that his daughters Hania, 7, and Anaya, 18 months old, were ill. His wife went to the clinic of quack Ashir who administered injections to both and as a result, Hania died immediately while Anaya became unconscious. The police said the raids were being conducted to arrest Ashir.

PROBE: Jhang Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Khurram Niazi directed the district health authority chief executive officer on Wednesday to hold an inquiry against four employees of a maternity clinic located at Adda Khewa for conducting cesarean surgery of a woman and causing leading to the death of her and her twin babies during surgery.

Complainant Manzoor Hussain of Satyana had complained to the DC that his wife was pregnant and he took her to the clinic for delivery where two dispensers Saeed and Asif and their two unidentified fellow female nurses conducted her surgery, and as a result, his wife and twin babies died instantly during surgery.

DIES: A man died and four others received injuries when a truck collided with a van on Jhang-Toba Road at Jhang near Shakarganj sugar mills on Wednesday. Rescue 1122 said the deceased was identified as Naveed Akhtar from Chak 262 JB. All wounded were shifted to the Jhang DHQ hospital.

SAPLINGS: More than 2.8 million saplings will be planted during the spring plantation campaign in the Faisalabad division. Commissioner Silwat Saeed inaugurated the spring plantation drive by planting saplings in Gutwala Park on Wednesday.
