DADU: A well-known businessman of the city shot dead his wife, a police constable, with a pistol and then killed himself with the same weapon near excise office here on Saturday.

According to the victims’ relatives, Imamuddin Loond had an exchange of hot words with his wife, Hameeda Loond, during which he lost control over his rage and fired at her from point blank range. Soon afterwards, he committed suicide, they said.

The relatives brought the bodies to Dadu Civil Hospital where doctors completed legal formalities before handing them over to relatives after autopsy.

DSP Abdul Khaliq Waggan said that the husband and wife had strained relations over some

domestic issues for several months. On Saturday, Imamuddin picked his wife after she ended her duty at Dadu town police station and they started quarrelling as he was driving her home. He lost his composure near excise office and killed her before ending his life, he said.

He said that investigation had been started into the tragedy.
