Five gutka sellers held

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 9: Police conducted raids and rounded up five gutka and mainpuri sellers in a crackdown launched here on Monday on the directives of the district nazim against manufacturers and sellers of the banned items.

The town police, however, avoided to conduct raids at factories where gutka and mainpuri were being produced.

The raids were conducted at markets which resulted in arrest of five people identified as Malik Danish, Abdul Latif Qureshi, Abdullah Bhambhro, Mohammad Hafeez and Akbar Khan from whom around 100 packets of gutka and mainpuri and a cash amount of Rs6,000 was recovered.

HESCO TEAM: A team of meter and testing department of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company, along with the task force of Hesco executive engineer operation, Mirpurkhas, on Monday raided the Shabrati Chakki, Shimla Bakery, Majeed Oil Mill, oil spellers, Khisakpura and unearthed irregularities in meters.
