LARKANA: A police constable suffered serious wounds in a murderous attack while he was driving his motorcycle near Qambar town on Wednesday and died in hospital before getting medical help.

Police shifted Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, who was data entry operator at Qambar SSP’s office, to the casualty department of Chandka Medical College Hospital but he could not survive. The motive behind the murder was said to be a dispute between groups of Bhutto and Mugheri communities involving karo-kari allegations, said sources.

The sources said that Mugheri clan had blamed the victim’s brother Zulfikar for his involvement in an incident of honour killing and the clansmen had settled the old score by killing the cop.
