RAWALPINDI: A man was arrested for allegedly beating his wife in Sadiqabad area.

The suspect also made a video of her and reportedly started defaming his wife by circulating it among her relatives.

In the FIR, the woman stated that she had gotten engaged with her husband at an early age but her parents refused to marry her off, therefore she contracted court marriage in 2021.

She said ever since her marriage, her husband would beat her often. She said her husband forced her to share her Facebook ID to which she replied that she did not remember as she had made it long back. This provoked him who then locked her in a room, cut her hair and beat her up, the woman claimed, adding that he even threatened to cut her throat and nose.
