Polo: Hissam slams hat trick

LAHORE, Jan 8:Bank Alfalah and Guard Rice won their matches easily on the opening day of the Mueenud Din Polo Cup on Sunday. Four goals by Hissam Ali Hyder, including a hat trick, helped the bankers outclass United Solutions 7- 3 1/2.

Hissam struck three goals in the first chukker to complete his hat trick.

Faaiz Rahim Khan, Saqib Khan Khakwani and Ali Hashim Rizvi added a goal each for the winners.

For the losers, who had a half-goal handicap, Naveed M Sheikh (2) and Atif Tiwana (1) were the scorers.

Three goals by Taimur Ali Malik enabled Guard Rice to carve out 5 1-2-2 win against Diamond Paints. Samiullah and Kamran Zaidi added a goal each for winners.

For losers, Mir Shoaib Ahmed and Umar Sadik reduced the margin.
