LAHORE, Jan 8: The Indian and Pakistan cricket officials are discussing the possibilities of raising funds for the affectees of the Oct 8’s earthquake during the forthcoming series beginning from Friday. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar M Khan told reporters on Sunday that the officials of the two boards would take a final decision on the eve of the ICC meeting to be held in Karachi on Jan 12.

The meeting was shifted from Dubai to Karachi due to the death of Dubai’s ruler Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The newly elected president of BCCI Sharad Pawar will also attend the ICC meeting and watch the first Test in Lahore.

Shaharyar said that some matches of the series could be dedicated for the fund raising or in addition a Twenty-20 match could also be held.

The PCB with the collaboration of England and the ICC had generated a sufficient amount of funds through cricket for the victims. Around 100,000 people died while more than 300,000 become homeless in Pakistan after the earthquake.
