Kidnapping

PESHAWAR, Jan 8: A Peshawar trader has been kidnapped apparently for ransom, police officials say. Some people called Haji Mohammad Afzal, son of Haji Said Mohammad, to come to Dalazad Road for a business deal on Friday, said police officials. Mr Afzal has a shop in Raiti bazaar in the walled city.

On Sunday, Haji Afzal telephoned his brother Imran from an unknown location and informed him that he had been kidnapped.

The trader told the brother to take his car, which had been parked at the parking lot of the Lady Reading Hospital, home. However, the accused kidnappers avoided to talk to the family.—Correspondent
