RAWALPINDI: Rainfall is expected in the twin cities on Tuesday (today) while snow is expected in Murree, the Met Office said.

A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and is likely to persist during the next few days.

According to a Met Office official, rain was expected in upper Punjab, Islamabad, Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Moderate to heavy rain/snowfall is expected in a few places in Kashmir. Cold and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country, he said, adding that snowfall occurred in scattered places in Kashmir, Murree and Chillas while cold weather prevailed elsewhere in the country on Monday.

About six inches of snow was recorded in Kalam, six inches in Parachinar, two inches in Malamjabba, one inch in Dir and 0.5 inch in Murree.

Lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Leh at -13°C, Kalat -8°C, Gupis, Malamjabba -7°C, Kalam, Quetta -6°C, Hunza -5°C, Skardu, Astore, Zhob, Dalbandin and Bagrote -4°C.
