KARACHI: The FIR of an alleged attack on Ahmadiyya community’s place of worship in the Martin Quarters area was lodged at the Jamshed Quarters police station on Thursday.

Zaheer Ahmed, a member of the Ahmadiyya Centre, lodged the complaint stating that he was present in his private office in Clifton at around 3:45pm on Wednesday (Jan 18) when he received the information that some 10-12 people wielding sticks etc had gathered at the gate of the centre and were chanting slogans. They scaled the centre’s wall and ransacked it, beside damaging the minar (tower), he claimed, adding that when he reached there after about an hour, the attackers had already fled.

Jamshed Quarters SHO Naveed Soomro said that the FIR was registered under sections 147, 148, 149 and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
