LAHORE, Jan 5: Khalid Rasool and Miraj Din were elected as president and secretary of the Lahore District Hockey Association (LDHA) on Thursday. The new body was elected by 18 clubs which had the right of vote.

The number of clubs which had the right of vote were reduced to 18 from 26 through scrutiny held on Wednesday.

The scrutiny committee also recommended 16 new clubs for the right of vote which was not granted before the start of the elections, as has been the practice in other districts.

Khawaja Tariq was a member of the scrutiny committee despite reports that he is also the president of the Ravi Club, one of the clubs affiliated with the LDHA.

However, Tariq did not turn up to cast the vote and sent a representative.

Anis Club was not included in the previous list of 26 clubs. But this time the name of the club was included and it also used the right of vote.

Similarly, the New Khan Club was included in the list of 26 clubs, but it had disappeared from the papers.

Office-bearers:

President: Khalid Rasool (Crescent Hockey Club).

Secretary: Miraj Din (Cantt. Club).

Treasurer: Mirza Wahid Butt (Ravi Hockey Club).

Representative to Punjab: Mansoorul Haq Bhutta.
