KARACHI, Jan 5: Fawad Alam hit another fighting unbeaten 71 and Afsar Nawaz cracked 83 to salvage Pakistan Customs for an honourable draw in a four-day Patrons Cricket Trophy Grade-I match against Habib Bank Limited at UBL Sports Complex on Thursday.

Fawad, who made 94 runs in the first innings, cracked seven boundaries in his second half century of the match and added 109 runs for the fourth wicket partnership with Afsar. Afsar banged 10 boundries and a six in his brilliant knock.

Fawad and Rashid Ali also put on 50 runs for the unbroken sixth wicket after Customs were forced to follow-on being dismissed for 283 in their first innings in reply to HBL’s first innings total of 506.

HBL despite the draw, advanced for the four team final stage of the tournament. Customs finished at the bottom of the points table.
