OKARA: A farm contractor was shot dead by three suspects for stopping them from picking guava from his orchard in the City Renala police precincts.

As per the first information report (FIR), the complainant, Kashif Masih, along with father, Allah Ditta Masih, and a brother were looking after their guava orchard near the village. Meanwhile, three village men, Osama, Intizar and Awais, reached there and started picking guava from the orchard. When Allah Ditta Masih tried to stop them, an exchange of harsh words occurred. At this, Osama drew out his weapon and opened fire at Allah Ditta. The firing left him injured.

The complainant and others were shifting the victim to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Renala Khurd when he succumbed to his injuries. On the report of Kashif, police registered a case against the suspects. Police claimed to have arrested one of the suspects, Intizar, but the remaining two were still at large.
