OKARA: A man forced poison into his wife’s mouth and killed her.

Five years ago, Mahnoor from Sahiwal married Tariq from 1/4L. The couple continued to be without an issue, which caused compatibility-related issues between them.

Mahnoor informed her father, Ghulam Rasool, late on Saturday that her life was in danger. As he and others arrived, they found Tariq had forcibly inserted drugs into her mouth with the help of his family.

Mahnoor was shifted to the DHQ City Hospital and then to Sahiwal Teaching Hospital, where she died on Monday.

The body was brought to the DHQ City Hospital for a postpartum examination to determine the cause of her death, while samples of her various body parts were collected for chemical laboratory investigation.

On the report of Rasool, the police registered a case against Tariq, his father Yousaf, mother Sharfan Bibi and brother Toraiz and two unidentified suspects under sections 302, 337-J, 148 and 149 of the PPC.

RECOVERED: In November and December, the district police recovered looted valuables worth Rs 50 million from 57 suspects in 16 criminal gangs.

Also, 203 mobile phones were recovered from criminals by the teams of 19 police stations. These recovered items were handed over to the owners.

The recovered items include golden ornaments, 31 cattle, 25 motorcycles, two cars, one loader rickshaw and cash.
