Fata players ignored

LANDI KOTAL, Jan 4: The Fata under-14 football team may not participate in the forthcoming National football championship starting from Jan 18 in Islamabad due to paucity of funds.

This was stated by secretary Fata Football Association (FFA) Nisar Ahmad on Wednesday.

Nisar lamented the attitude of the PFF towards Fata and insisted that the federation had not provided even a single penny or a football to his association.

He said that at least six Fata players had represented national football teams at various various age groups despite meagre resources.

“We have been running our association on personal donations so far,” said Nisar adding that now they were unable to afford even transportation charges up to Islamabad.

He appealed to the federal sports ministry and PFF to release sufficient funds to the FFA so as to enable Fata to participate in the national event.
