ISLAMABAD: Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Abdul Hafiz Pirzada this evening [Jan 4] announced in the National Assembly ... that the Government was willing to have an independent judicial inquiry into Wali Khan’s allegation that Interior Minister Abdul Qayyum Khan had been assigned with the job to get him and 30 other leaders murdered. ...Mr Pirzada said if there was any truth in the allegations, Wali Khan should accept the President’s offer to have an independent judicial inquiry and prove his accusations.

Interior Minister Abdul Qayyum Khan also rose describing Wali Khan’s accusations as “utterly unfounded and concoctions”... . He “challenged” Wali Khan to accept the offer of a judicial inquiry and prove his allegations before a Judge of the Supreme Court.

Repeating his … criticism of Wali Khan’s attitude … Khan Qayyum Khan said all this was a drama being played to sabotage the adoption of the Constitution despite the accord between parliamentary groups of all parties of which the NAP was also a signatory.
