KARACHI, Jan 4: The City Naib Nazim, Ms Nasreen Jalil, has said special attention would be paid to resolve problems of health, education and transport apart from other problems being faced by Karachiites.

She said this after offering Fateha at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Wednesday.

She laid a floral wreath at the Quaid’s Mazar and also visited the graves of Shaheed-i-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Sardar Abdul Rub Nishter.

Ms Jalil, who took oath of office on Tuesday, said she would run the city council in an effective manner so more and more development activities in the city could be ensured.

The naib nazim said she would do her best to make Karachi a modern city, adding that provision of basic facilities was among her priorities.

She said because of the special attention by the governor and city nazim, better job opportunities were being created in the metropolis.—APP
