CHITRAL, Jan  30: The National Database and Registration Authority, Chitral office, will achieve the target by June 30 as the work is in full swing and the offices are not closed on Sundays.

Talking to Dawn here on Tuesday, Nadra, Gul Agha, said here on Tuesday that 35,000 computerized national identity cards have so far been distributed at the doorsteps of the applicants through the village representatives. He said that the number of eligible persons for obtaining national identity cards in the district is about 1,700,000 and the local Nadra office can easily and competently oblige them.

“It is up to the people to contact us as soon as possible as we are everready to receive them”, he said. He further said that about 60 village representatives and 10 field workers are working in the district to solve the problems of the people at their doorsteps.

He maintained that now the people of remote areas have no need to travel to Chitral city registration office to solve their problems.

He said that apart from the district offices, the Nadra counters have also been opened in the remote areas of the district like Garam Chashma, Torhow, Booni and Mastuj. Replying to a question he said that special care is being taken to check that no Afghan should be issued identity card and for that matter no such case has ever been reported in Chitral.
