ANP ready for polls, says Aimal

PESHAWAR: President Awami National Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Aimal Wali Khan has said that his party is ready for elections. “You [Imran Khan] dissolve the assembly tomorrow, I’ll announce the candidates today,” he said while addressing a youth convention in Bacha Khan Markaz here on Sunday.

Mr Khan stated that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan would retract his words and not dissolve the KP and Punjab assemblies. “He [Khan] has made the announcement but I can say for sure that he will not dissolve the assemblies,” the ANP provincial president said.

Amil Wali siad that the PTI chairman defamed Pakistan globally. “While calling others thieves, he himself turned out to be a thief,” he said.

While talking about the law and order situation, the ANP provincial president stated that police personnel were being attacked and martyred but the power corridors were silent over the rising number of terrorism cases, adding that 105 police personnel had sacrificed their lives in 2022.

He announced that Sardar Hussain Babak would contest polls from PK-25, Qaisar Wali Khan from PK-24, Afsar Khan from PK-23 besides Samar Haroon will contest polls from PK-81, Yasin Khalil from PK-77, Abidullah Yousafzai from PK-80, Arsalan Khan from PK-78, Dr Naveedullah Khan from PK-79 and Haji Siddeeq Afridi will contest polls from PK-76.
