SWABI, Jan 2: Speakers at a seminar said collaboration between academia and industry is critical for industrial growth. The cooperation could boost the country’s economy while enabling it to meet new challenges, according to speakers at the concluding ceremony of a three-day workshop on the “Heat Exchangers: Installation, Operation and Maintenance” in the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Monday.

The faculty of mechanical engineering and isotherm incorporation, USA, jointly organized the workshop. The members of different national, multinational companies and academia attended the workshop.

They said the ‘linkage’ between academia and industry had always played a vital role for industrial development. By collaboration, they could extensively benefit from each other.

“The workshop was very important from many perspectives such as strengthening the relations between the GIK Institute and the industry,” said a speaker.

At the end of the workshop, certificates were awarded to the participants and instructors.
