BAJAUR: Journalists on Sunday held a protest demonstration against the medical superintendent and other officials of the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, for ‘manhandling’ one of their colleagues, and demanded action against them.

Several civil society activists also attended the demonstration held outside the Bajaur Press Club.

The mediapersons, who were holding placards inscribed with slogans against the hospital’s management, said journalist, Zahid Jan was covering a demonstration staged by family members and residents against the delay in postmortem on the bodies of two victims, who were gunned down on Saturday.

They said the hospital’s MS Dr Liaqat Khan and other officials attacked the journalist and damaged his mobile phone.

The participants demanded of the health department and the district administration to suspend the MS and others involved in the ‘unlawful’ act.

They also warned of boycotting the coverage of all activities of health department if the officials responsible were not brought to justice.
