PESHAWAR: On the provincial government’s instructions, sports officers in different districts have started conducting trials to select teams for the forthcoming games to be played at the union council and tehsil levels.

Sharing details about the preparations with mediapersons here on Wednesday, Peshawar district sports officer Gul Rukh said she along with minister for higher education Kamran Bangash visited various venues to monitor the trials. She said hundreds and thousands of players were turning up for trials.

Ms Rukh said the trials would continue till Nov 25, and the games would start on Dec 1 in different districts, including Peshawar. She also appreciated the MPAs for extending their support to the directorate general sports in completing the selection process.

She said various selection committees had been constituted for smooth conduct of the trials.

The district sports officer said players were taking part in cricket, football and volleyball trials.
