Encroachments to be removed in 15 days

LAHORE, Dec 30: District Coordination Officer Mian Muhammad Ijaz on Friday ordered removal of encroachments on all major roads and bazaars within a fortnight and a ban on construction of plazas without proper parking.

Presiding over a meeting of Town Municipal Officers and Town Officers (Regulation) here, the DCO said that all town municipal administrations should remove encroachments with the help of reserve police round-the-clock.

He directed the Data Ganj Bakhsh town officer (R) to ensure removal of encroachments around Data Darbar and Pir Makki Road within a week.

The construction of plazas without proper parking space should not be allowed and shops built at parking spaces should be demolished. Those engaged in developing residential schemes without approval and disposing of waste water in the canal should be proceeded against. Proposals for amendments to building bylaws should be submitted within a week.

He also ordered monitoring of one-window operation and complaints cell facilities in towns. He said that spaces should be specified for sale of sacrificial animals in all towns and traders should be charged only the prescribed fee. — Reporter
