DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two more police stations will be established in Tank district, regional police chief Mohammad Saleem Marwat said on Friday.
The RPO told reporters at the Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines here that work was under way on the establishment of police stations in Dabbarah and Umar Adda area bordering tribal districts.
He said the two police stations would help check crimes and militancy.
Mr Marwat said after the recent attacks against police, the department was considering special measures for the better protection of checkposts.
He said the police were in contact with the Pakistan Army and law-enforcement agencies for steps to counter militancy.
The RPO said the anti-terrorism strategy for the region would be reviewed in light of the recent attacks.
He said the new strategy would be enforced shortly.
Mr Marwat said women, children and religious minorities were vulnerable to rights abuse, so the district police officers should ensure speedy and effective resolution of their issues.
