GUJAR KHAN: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab and sensitive institution arrested a terrorist involved in the assassination of former Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada from Kallar Syedan area on Tuesday and recovered explosives from his custody.

According to the details, arrested suspect was wanted in the terrorist attack on Colonel (retired) Shuja Khanzada in Attock since 2015. The sources in the CTD said that the suspect belonged to Dhudiyal area of Azad Kashmir and was a member of banned outfits including Lashkir-i-Jhangvi and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He has received training from Afghanistan.

The former home minister was killed in a blast attack at his residence in Shadi Khan village of Attack on Aug 16, 2015.

Teacher survives attack

A female schoolteacher survived a gun attack on the premises of a primary school in the limits of Jatli police station of Gujar Khan on Tuesday.

According to details, the incident took place in Mohra Sheikhan village of union council Kauntrila where suspected attacker fired at the gate of the school and in the school’s compound and fled.

According to the police sources, the teacher moved an application against the attacker in Jatli police station and demanded registration of a case under terrorism law.

The applicant stated that her house maid came to her school and used abusive language with her and left the school.

The complainant reported that Rimsha sent her brother to the school who fired on the premises of the school.

Police reached the spot and have started investigations of the incident.

City Police Officer Syed Nadeem Shah Bukhari took notice of the incident and said that strict action would be taken against the suspect.
