Dist, town naib nazim elections today

LAHORE, Dec 27: Elections of district and town naib nazims will be held by show of hands at the special sessions of relevant councils in the province on Wednesday (today). District and Sessions Judge Mushtaq Ahmed Tarar will preside over the Lahore District Council session to be held at the Jinnah Hall for the naib nazim election. Similarly, additional sessions judges will preside over the sessions of nine town councils for the purpose.

Nomination papers have already been received for the district and town naib nazim candidates.

Meanwhile, City District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood continued to contact town and district council members to muster support for the PML-backed candidates on Tuesday. He called upon them to contact maximum number of councillors to seek their votes for ‘official’ candidates. They were also asked to ensure their presence at the council sessions to be held for election purpose.
