QUETTA, Dec 27: Kharan Rifles on Tuesday seized a huge quantity of drugs and arrested nine alleged smugglers from a village close to the Pakistan-Afghan border. The troops raided the village of Karnalah in Chagai district, some six km away from the international border.

The arms and ammunition seized included one sub-machinegun, hundreds of rounds and two Russian motorcycles.

The smugglers were handed over to levies for further investigation.
