LAHORE: A burqa-clad suspected shooter shot dead a man in Shadbagh area here on Tuesday.

The incident was recorded in a street CCTV camera, showing the suspect fired many shots on Ali Butt and two others when they were sitting in the street. It showed that the man was in no hurry and he took time to accomplish his target as he first fired shots on Ali Butt who suffered a bullet injury. The attacker quickly fired two more shots in his head, which proved fatal, according to the CCTV footage which went viral on social media.

Police investigation suggested that a man who was sitting along with Ali Butt also suffered a bullet injury. Meanwhile, a neighbour who was there rushed inside a shop and brought out a pistol and fired shots on the attacker but the suspect made good his escape.

A police official said the suspects had earlier shot dead Faisal Butt, the brother of Ali Butt, one month ago. He said Ali had lodged a murder case and was pursuing the case of his brother against alleged killer ‘Imran Shooter’.

Shortly after killing Faisal Butt, the police official said, the suspected killer escaped abroad. He had threatened Ali from abroad that he would kill him for pursuing the murder case of Faisal Butt. Ali had recently brought the matter into the notice of some senior police officers.

Ali’s relatives told media persons that Imran had hired another shooter of Lahore to murder Ali and he accomplished his target on Tuesday.
