ABBOTTABAD: The Peshawar High Court’s Abbottabad Circuit Bench has granted stay against shifting of the Nadra’s local office to Mansehra Road here on a writ petition filed by Jehangir Elahi advocate.

The court fixed Nov 9 as the next date of hearing and has issued notices to the parties concerned. It was stated that the Nadra office currently located in the city centre was easily accessible to the people, while its shifting to new site would put an extra burden on the people to visit the office.

Meanwhile, the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology extended the date for admission in BS programmes to Oct 20. The first merit list will be displayed on Oct 28 and the second one on Nov 3.

SQUASH COMPLEX: The Jansher Khan Squash Complex, Abbottabad, has been closed, and a coach appointed by Pakistan Squash Federation relieved by director of the complex, said sources.

Talking to this correspondent, players and office-bearers of the Abbottabad Squash Association demanded the PSF and KP Squash Association to intervene and sort out multiple issues of the complex.

They claimed that in-charge of the complex had increased the monthly fee from Rs2,000 to Rs4,000. The players, especially students, complained that the fee had now become unaffordable for them.
