TOKYO: The Japanese Government will annou­nce its decision to sever diplomatic relations with Taiwan simultaneously with the release of the Japan-China communique scheduled for Fri­day [Sept 29] in Peking, Acting Prime Min­i­s­ter Takeo Miki announced in Tokyo today [Sept 28] after a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Tan­aka in Peking. [Meanwhile, as reported by the newspaper’s staff correspondent from Quetta,] The Chief Minister of the NWFP, Maulana Mufti Mahmud, said here today [Sept 28] that he had resolved differences that existed between the JUI and the NAP leaders in Baluchistan. … The differences, he said, were the results of some misunderstanding which have been removed, and complete accord has now been reached to honour the five-point formula. Both parties, the Frontier Chief Minister said, were signatories to the formula, which ... called for introduction of religious reforms in Baluchistan.
