A walk was arranged from the Panorama Centre to Charing Cross on The Mall. All wings of the department – the TDCP, Archaeology Directorate, Lahore Museum, and Department of Tourist Services – participated in the walk.

Tourism Secretary Ehsan Bhutta along with other officials, led the rally. More than 100 participants, including the members of the Punjab Tourism Squad and students of different schools and colleges, attended the walk. They were carrying banners and placards projecting and promoting the tourism of Punjab.

Besides this, the Archaeology Directorate organized various seminars and informative sessions on heritage places. The Lahore Museum also exhibited some special paintings along with a promotional walk inside the museum.

The Tourism Department of Punjab concluded the day with a special ceremony at Shalamar Gardens. The moorcraft and corridors of the Mughal Garden were illuminated, a step to promote night tourism. Instrumental music performances and theatrical performances enthralled a large audience.

Ayaz Khan Niazi, special assistant to the chief minister, was the guest of honour. He appreciated the department’s efforts and said that the government was all up to bringing positive changes to the tourism industry by giving priority to the ongoing developmental projects in Punjab. He added that the chief minister had a great vision in this regard and had taken all necessary measures and provided adequate resources for strengthening the tourism department so that tourists visiting Punjab could be provided with the best services and facilities.

The Lahore Museum displayed an exclusive exhibition of the paintings of Zubaida Agha, Anna Molka Ahmad and Nighat Idrees. Some 16 or so paintings were on display; the exclusive exhibition would remain on for a month, said Director of Lahore Museum Ijaz Ahamd Minhas.
