PESHAWAR, Dec 22: A two-member bench of Peshawar High Court on Thursday issued notices to the secretary and chief administrator for zakat and ushr in the NWFP and other respondents after admitting a writ petition filed against termination of a field clerk of the provincial zakat department.

Justice Ijazul Hassan and Justice Salim Khan issued notice to the respondents and directed them to submit responses within 15 days.

The writ petition was filed by Muhammad Sohail through his counsel Altaf Samad.

The petitioner’s counsel submitted that his client was working as field clerk on contract basis in the provincial zakat department for the last five years and was terminated without showing any show-cause notice to him.—APP
