SIALKOT, Dec 22: Six armed men set fire to two tractors of a kiln owner after opening an indiscriminate fire at the kiln in Gojra village, Daska, late Wednesday night. Muhammad Mushtaq Rehmani, the kiln owner, had reportedly refused to pay them Jagga (forced) tax.

According to the FIR, a local criminal demanded Rs1 million as forced tax from Mushtaq, who refused to make any payment. The infuriated culprit, along with his five accomplices, stormed into the kiln, held up the labourers and opened fire.

Later, they drove the kiln owner’s two tractors with number plates (STL-2258 and SAD-9653) to some distance and set them ablaze. The gangsters fled firing in the air.

The Bambaanwala police have registered a case against the suspects under sections 148, 149, 324, 386, 427, 436 PPC and 7 of ATA, but yet to apprehend them.

Daska ASP Ali Javed Anwar Malik told newsmen that the suspects would be arrested within a day or two.
