GUJRANWALA, Dec 22: The contempt of court notice was issued against an FIA passport cell sub-inspector for disobeying court orders of releasing an accused of human smuggling on parole. Reports said that the FIA passport cell had arrested Muhammad Yahya of Jewan Goraya (Sheikhupura) for his alleged involvement in human trafficking. Haji Zafar, the brother of the accused, requested court that his brother should be released on parole so that he could participate in the funeral prayers of his father. Accepting his plea, the judge ordered his release on parole. But SI Shaukat Goraya locked up the accused instead of complying with the court orders. On Thursday, the SI again sent the accused to jail.

NOTICES: The Excise and Taxation Department on Thursday served final notices on defaulters to clear their outstanding dues by Dec 31.

The defaulters were warned that their properties would be auctioned if they failed to clear their dues.
